The Science

About Illuminare-1

A highly specific, small molecule fluorophore with rapid onset and sustained duration of action intended to enhance real-time visualization of nerves for surgeons in a broad variety of open, laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures.

Mechanism of Action

Illuminare-1 binds specifically to myelin, the protective sheath surrounding nerve fibers. It targets critical structures—such as the sciatic, brachial, ulnar, spinal, and femoral nerves—highlighting them against the surrounding tissue.

Rapid Onset of Action

Seamless integration into the surgical workflow is critical. Illuminare-1 makes nerves, fat, muscles, and blood vessels clearly visible and discernible just 5 minutes post-injection.

Sustained Duration

Confidence throughout the entire procedure. Visualization lasts for the duration of surgery, ensuring that as the procedure progresses, critical nerve structures remain illuminated and protected.
